A water heater flue pipe is a straight metal pipe fitted above the water heater burner, extending upwards. It is usually located centrally in the heater. Combustion gases are transmitted from the heater and expelled to the outside atmosphere. The safe release of toxic gases is a vital function of the water heater flue. It prevents pollution of air indoors. Although we would prefer to install a straight flue from the geyser through the roof to the atmosphere, it’s not always possible. We may encounter structures that prevent this straight installation. By using a stainless steel flue bend, we can go “around” these obstacles.
